The contest winner receives a full scholarship to the Kenyon Review Young Writers workshop.
Students in 10th through 12th grade can submit a one-act play or a short story, sponsored by a high school teacher, to be considered for the fiction contest. The National Academy of Engineering is holding an essay contest for aspiring young engineers.
Applicants between the ages of 13 and 18 can enter for free.

Winners receive full tuition to the Semester at Sea program as well as a trip to Washington, DC, to meet with a leader at the Department of State.
